Online Health Survey Application for Citizens of Patna

In order for urban areas to adequately plan for health care services they require quality and accurate real-time data collection. The conventional method of gathering this information can be labour intensive, inconsistent and will frequently not take advantage of suitable tools for analysis. Therefore, we intend to create an Online Health Survey Application that will meet the purpose of systematically collecting, storing and analysing Health Information of citizens from the many different administrative levels throughout Urban centres (i.e., wards and circles).

🎯 Objective

The main objective of this system is to digitally collect and manage citizens’ health data through a structured web-based platform, organizing the information according to wards and circles. Government leaders can improve their decision-making and make better data-driven decisions. Localized data gives them the ability to make better and quicker decisions when it comes to where there are large amounts of risks within their jurisdiction or area. With the information in these reports, governmental officials will now have a greater understanding of where some of the most significant risks are located within their community and how much time it will take to respond to these risks through improvements such as adding more police officers in the area or improving healthcare services.

🧩 System Overview

The online application allows various parties, such as survey agents, administrators, ward-level politicians, and circle officers, to all interact with the system in their own ways based on their roles. Survey agents will use web forms to collect household-level and family member-level data, including health condition data, while administrators will manage, validate and maintain existing records and upload signed documents for the purpose of validation. Ward-level politicians can use the health information from their wards to help with local planning. Circle officers can monitor the health data of all wards in their circles and use this information for larger decisions. The system is based on the household-level where each survey is related to a unique property or holding number, including the health condition of all family members, to facilitate accurate collection of data, eliminate duplication of data and create strong links with municipal databases.

📝 Survey Form Features

The application captures lots of health and household information including property information (holding number, address, ward) as well as information on individual members of each family (name, age and sex). Health conditions are categorised into five main categories (chronic, infectious, deficiency, hereditary and physiological) for record keeping purposes with their severity level and additional comments to ensure detailed and structured data can be collected for analyses.

📊 Dashboard & Analytics

Features of an interactive system that display ward-wise distribution of illnesses among many categories: chronic; infectious; deficiency; hereditary; physiological; etc. They also provide key insights like most affected wards; disease trends by circle; areas with limited access to healthcare service. Insightful information will help support effective decisions made by policymakers regarding budget allocation, healthcare infrastructure development, and targeted intervention programs. To protect information properly according to individual role-based responsibilities each admin has been granted reviewed by ward access to assigned political authorities; reviewed at circle access level to assigned administrative authorities; full control to all administrator level staff provides a secure method of managing equitable exposure/access at all levels (i.e., data is exposed based on actual assignment to each position). Document management modules have also been developed, where administrative staff can upload signed applications with appropriate support for verification of data accuracy and validity and then ensure traceability of all uploaded information.

🚀 Benefits of the System

With centralized, digitized health data management, survey collections are conducted with speed, accuracy, and convenience; thus, allowing for quicker response to patient needs through the use of real-time report generation and analysis that assist healthcare planners with the best possible information regarding the delivery of care to patients. This in turn allows patients to have confidence in the transparency and accountability of their government.

⚠️ Challenges

There are three primary challenges related to the system: assuring accuracy and reliability of survey data; administering and processing huge volumes of data in an efficient manner; and providing appropriate privacy and security measures for sensitive health information.

🧠 Conclusion

Patna now has an innovative application called The Online Health Survey Application that changes the way health care data is collected and used by utilizing technology and structured data collection with role-based access to make decision-making about health care more efficient and allocate resources more effectively. The benefits of this initiative are the potential to improve public health in Patna and for other cities to use this initiative as a reference for their own health care infrastructure planning.
