The system of reporting road damage offers an organized method to discover, check, and monitor potholes and damaged roads that could not have been reported in any other way. A citizen fills the complaint form, in which he or she gives the name of the ward, circle, address, latitude, and longitude, attaches a photo of the road damage, and provides a description of the road damage. After the complaint has been submitted, it is sent to the officer in charge of the verification of the complaint, who goes to the site and provides field notes on the inspects the site. Only verified road problems are sent to the ward Councillor, while all false complaints are rejected. Once the complaint has been verified, the County Councillor receives the notice on his or her dashboard, verifies the complaint, adds some notes to the verified complaint, and saves the complaint. The complaint is given a number, so it can be easily searched and monitored.

Workflow of Pothole & Damaged Road Reporting System

We are pleased to introduce the Road Complaint Management System. This Software (i.e. PHP-based) comprises different modules aimed at effective management of the complaint management system pertaining to road complaints. The first module is register_complaint.php module. It is used by citizens or registered users to submit the complaint lodged by entering the road-related information and description of the road-related complaint. The next module is search_complaint.php module. It enables the users to perform a quick search by entering various parameters such as the name of the road, ward number, or circle. The third module called verify.php module deals with the verification and authentication of the complaints. It identifies the genuine complaints and generates a unique complaint ID for each of the verified complaint cases. The fourth module is a track.php module. By using this module, users can easily find out the current status of complaint by using its ID, i.e. reference id. Lastly, there is report.php module that deals with providing a comprehensive report on complaint management. The complete history of each complaint is encompassed by this report.
